The January transfer window is still open but it doesn’t appear as if Liverpool are likely to do anything before the end of the month.

Arne Slot refrained from splashing the cash in the summer transfer window as he opted to trust the squad he inherited from Jurgen Klopp.

Federico Chiesa was the only player who walked through the door at Anfield, although a deal was agreed in principle to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia in the summer of 2025.

However, the upcoming transfer windows are likely to be different as the Reds still have a few holes to fill in their squad.

Leroy Sane has been linked with a move to Liverpool as Mohamed Salah’s future hangs in the balance.

And now, the German international has had his say on what the future holds for him as he continues to hold contract talks with Bayern Munich.

Liverpool have offered Salah a new contract, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

However, the Egyptian is no closer to putting pen to paper, raising doubts over his potential departure.

In the meantime, Sane has emerged as an opportunity for Liverpool, with the German also on the same boat as Salah in terms of his contract situation with Bayern Munich.

And now, the former Manchester City man has appeared to suggest he’s prioritising a stay at the Allianz Arena, although he did confirm that other clubs have approached him over a transfer.

"Of course, clubs have already inquired about my situation. But everyone knows my position", told Sane to BILD (via Fabrizio Romano).

"I won’t consider it at the moment, but will focus on FC Bayern and try to be as successful as possible with the team.”

Sane would be an intriguing option for Liverpool

Sane has already played in the Premier League and had the knack of terrorising Liverpool whenever he came up against the Reds.

The £55m forward has loads of experience for club and country and could be available on a free transfer, making him a market opportunity for Liverpool to consider.

Liverpool also have just one left-footed attacker in Salah, so his potential arrival could add more variety, directness and unpredictability to the Reds’ firepower.
