Exclusive: Liverpool weighing up two players in Napoli swap deal to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Liverpool are weighing up a sensational January deal for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Rousing The Kop understands.
The Reds are understood to have been long-term admirers of Kvaratskhelia and have been keeping a close eye on his contract situation at Napoli.
It’s understood that with negotiations now dragging on for over a year, Napoli are coming under increasing pressure to sell Kvaratskhelia during the winter window.
And RTK have been informed that Liverpool are enormous fans of the 23-year-old and see him as a potential long-term successor to Mohamed Salah.
It’s understood that the Reds have not been actively planning to bring Kvaratskhelia in during the January window but are desperate not to miss out on the chance to sign him from Napoli.
As a result of increased interest from Paris Saint Germain, RTK have been informed that Liverpool are now weighing up a January move for Kvaratskhelia.
Liverpool weighing up Khvicha Kvaratskhelia bid
Contract conversations between Napoli and Kvaratskhelia have been rumbling on ever since 2023.
And with those negotiations now at a halt, the player’s camp are understood to have informed Liverpool about the parameters of a potential deal.
It’s understood that PSG are also very much keen on a deal to sign Kvaratskhelia, though, and with the French champions having already opened talks, they are very much seen as being at the head of the chase.
From Liverpool’s point of view, RTK have been informed that any move may be dependent on how aggressively PSG push to get a deal done.

Liverpool also have their current squad to consider, and with Arne Slot having six senior forward options at his disposal, there may need to be an exit to facilitate Kvaratskhelia’s arrival.
And RTK understands Liverpool are considering the option of including Darwin Nunez in any possible deal. The Uruguayan is unsettled on Merseyside and has attracted attention of a number of clubs including Juventus and AC Milan.
Federico Chiesa is another who is understood to be of interest to Napoli and RTK have been informed that Liverpool are weighing up whether or not to push ahead with player exchange arrangement.
How is Khvicha Kvaratskhelia doing this season?
Kvaratskhelia has been an impressive performer at Napoli ever since his arrival in 2022.
The Georgian had a sensational first season in Naples, hitting 14 goals and 14 assists across all competitions as the Azzurri won a first Scudetto in 30 years.
Since then Kvaratskhelia’s output has dipped a little, with 2023/24 bringing 11 goals and seven assists.
This season, ‘Kvaradona’ is once again leading a potential title charge for Napoli, with five goals and three assists to his name so far.
