Exclusive: What Liverpool have been saying to Jamal Musiala's agents as he ponders Anfield switch

Rousing The Kop can exclusively reveal that Liverpool are positioning themselves to sign Jamal Musiala if he decides to leave Bayern Munich.

Musiala is one of Bayern’s key players but is yet to sign an extension to his current contract, which ends in 2026.

As a result, RTK understands that Liverpool have been alerted to the possibility that Musiala could soon become available on the market.

It’s understood that the Reds are one of a number of top sides who are pushing to get to the front of the queue should the 21-year-old choose not to extend his stay at Bayern.

RTK understands that Liverpool view Musiala as a generational talent and see the potential chance to bring him to Anfield as being too good to turn down.

However, it’s understood that there is yet to be any guarantee that the former Chelsea prospect will be available.

While Musiala has publicly admitted that he will not sign a new deal at Bayern before Christmas, RTK has been informed that it is still possible that he commits his future to the German giants in 2025.

Nevertheless, Liverpool are understood to be fully aware of Musiala’s situation and are taking steps to ensure they stay in the race.

RTK transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey has been told that the Reds are very much in touch with the Germany international’s representatives in order to stay in the loop.

However, these discussions are simply preliminary for the moment, with Liverpool understood to have told Musiala that they will be ready and waiting if and when he decides that his future lies away from Bayern.

Naturally, for such a talented player, Liverpool are not the only club jostling to get ahead on Musiala.

RTK understands that Barcelona and Real Madrid are very much alert to the situation, as are the likes of Manchester City from the Premier League.

And while it’s understood that Musiala is leaning towards a move to Spain should he leave Bayern, sources have indicated that Liverpool’s current standing under Arne Slot would mean that they would very much be a consideration for Musiala.

How is Jamal Musiala doing this season?

There’s good reason why Bayern will be fretting over the future of Musiala. The forward is still a really important player for Vincent Kompany.

Despite being just 21, Musiala has already played 185 times for the German record champions.

This season, with Harry Kane’s fitness starting to become a problem, the former England youth international has stepped up once again.

Musiala has 13 goals in just 22 games across all competitions, recording four assists along the way, too.

His form is peaking coming into the Bundesliga winter break, with Musiala adding another goal and assist during Bayern’s thumping 5-1 win against RB Leipzig on Friday night.
