Liverpool are still hoping to agree new deals for Ibrahima Konate, Luis Diaz and Curtis Jones before the end of the season.

The Reds have been bogged down in contract talks this term and Rousing The Kop can exclusively reveal that the back-log is causing a delay with the three players.

But while negotiations with Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold remain the priority, RTK understands that Konate, Diaz and Jones are very much next on the list.

Liverpool are understood to be keen to avoid a similar scenario as the one they have found themselves in this season and will look to tie up the trio as soon as they can.

RTK have been informed that the Reds know the parameters of new contracts for each of Konate, Diaz and Jones and there is little worry at this stage over each extension.

Liverpool still working on six contracts

Diaz and Konate have been two of Arne Slot’s most important players at Anfield this season, with Jones also making strides towards a regular place in the starting XI.

Despite Konate’s contract being the first to expire – in 2026 – RTK understands that Diaz’s camp have been the most active in pushing for a contract extension.

The Colombian is signed up until 2027 at Liverpool, but his representatives have been vocal about getting Diaz in-line with some of the higher earners in the Reds squad.

It’s understood that Liverpool have been frustrated at the public tactics of those close to Diaz, who have been trying to force the Reds’ hand since last summer.

However, this irritation is not directed towards the player himself who’s behaviour is said to have been exemplary, and it’s understood that Liverpool want to make sure his future is clear before the summer transfer market.

As a result, RTK understands that Diaz, Konate and Jones have each been informed that offers are on the way as soon as the Van Dijk, Salah and Alexander-Arnold situations are resolved.

As things stand RTK have been informed that there are not expected to be complications in tying down any of the trio, although an exact timeframe for the extensions has not yet been clarified.

When does Curtis Jones’ contract run out?

With so much attention on ‘the big three’ and their imminent expiry dates at Liverpool, the likes of Diaz and in particular Konate have gone under the radar.

Konate is one of three first-team players who’s contract runs out in 2026, the others being Andy Robertson and Caoimhin Kelleher.

Jones, meanwhile, is set to end terms at Anfield in 2027, along with Diaz and a whole host of other players such as Alisson, Diogo Jota and Joe Gomez.

The 23-year-old has established himself as an important player under Slot and his new deal is likely to see Jones earn a significant pay-rise.
