Fans rave about 'fantastic' Curtis Jones' performance for England v Ireland with message sent to Phil Foden
Today at 02:15 PM
Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones got himself another start for England tonight and it’s safe to say the midfielder impressed once more against the Republic of Ireland.
Jones scored on his debut in Greece to show his quality and he was rewarded for that performance with another start under Lee Carsley at Wembley against the Irish.
England blew Ireland away with a swashbuckling second half display which was fuelled by Ireland’s Liam Scales being shown a red card.
There was no goal for Jones tonight as the likes of Harry Kane, Anthony Gordon and Jarrod Bowen all got themselves on the scoresheet.
However, that’s not to say that Jones didn’t impress again and over on social media, both Liverpool fans and fans of other clubs were seriously impressed by the Reds ace.
What fans are saying about Curtis Jones after his latest England performance against Ireland
England have an abundance of talent in the final third and for a long time, it felt like Curtis Jones might never break in because of that talent pool.
However, he’s making a position in the middle of the park his own and alongside Conor Gallagher, he helped England dominate.
And over on X, fans from around the country have been singing Jones’ praises.
Another supporter, @cmbftbl, also lauded Jones as ‘fantastic’.
‘Curtis Jones is just fantastic’
While a Liverpool fan, @LFCMACCA1, used the opportunity to call out Phil Foden.
‘Curtis Jones 2 g/a in 2 games for England Foden come outside‘
Amusingly, a self-confessed Irish Liverpool fan, @maxgallwrites also had some words for Jones and commented on just how easy he made the game look.
‘As an Irish Liverpool fan, I am equally delighted and offended by how casual Curtis Jones was tonight.’
Curtis Jones sends message to Arne Slot in international break
Not many Liverpool players can come back from this international break and really say they’ve proven a point but Curtis Jones certainly can.
To go and make your debut and score, before then bossing a game against Ireland from centre-midfield is a huge show of class from the Liverpool man.
As we know, Arne Slot is a big fan of Jones but this is a case of message sent from the midfielder to his manager as if to say ‘leave me out at your peril’.
Right now, Jones is a nailed on starter for the Reds and rightfully so.
