Liverpool enjoyed one of their most dominant away performances this season after a 2-0 win against Brentford.
Darwin Nunez’s record-breaking brace saw the Reds finally get the three points having nearly had 40 shots against Thomas Frank’s side, with the result coupled with Arsenal’s draw taking Liverpool six points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

With Frank lauding Liverpool as the best team in the world, the Anfield side showed why they’re on track to win their second-ever Premier League title, with Arne Slot praised for his substitutes and his ability to transform a game in a second.
And Steve McManaman was impressed by what he saw from Trent Alexander-Arnold in west London.
Alexander-Arnold lauded after ‘brilliant’ Liverpool performance
Speaking on Premier League Goal Rush, the former Liverpool star showered the England international with praise after Alexander-Arnold’s ‘brilliant’ performance for the Reds, with the defender assisting Nunez for the winner and causing problems all game for Brentford.
With Alexander-Arnold set to join Real Madrid this year, the 26-year-old right-back showed why he will be such a miss for Liverpool heading into next season, and McManaman believes the Anfield fullback was at his absolute best after some poor performances earlier this month.

McManaman said when asked about the Liverpool star’s display: “He was brilliant, and I hope people give him the credit he deserves because they’ve been quick to criticise his performance against Manchester United when the entire team wasn’t great.
“But since then, his response has been excellent, he was brilliant against Tottenham, excellent against Accrington Stanley where he got that goal, and brilliant again this evening.”
What’s the latest on Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool future?
Every Liverpool fan and their mother is sold on the idea of Alexander-Arnold leaving Merseyside this summer, with the call of Madrid simply too tempting for the right-back to ignore heading into the peak years of his career.
Yet despite all the noise, Alexander-Arnold is yet to agree a move to Madrid despite the Spanish giants holding talks with the defender and establishing their stance on bringing the defender to La Liga in 2025.
Indeed, Alexander-Arnold’s future looks set to be away from Liverpool beyond this season, and the defender will want to make his final year at Anfield one to remember with a historic quadruple still on the table.
