'Got a real chance': Journalist suggests three youngsters who could all play for Liverpool vs Accrington
Today at 04:00 AM
Liverpool take on Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup on Saturday hoping to avoid a third round giant killing.
The Reds have not played the League Two side since 1956 and the day is set to be a special one for all involved.
Accrington manager John Doolan is a former Liverpool academy coach and Doolan is clearly excited ahead of a reunion with the Reds at Anfield.
From a Liverpool point of view, it’s going to be fascinating to see the kind of team Arne Slot puts out.
Saturday’s match will be the first time in his short Reds career in which the Liverpool head coach has faced a non Premier League side.
And with a number of the Liverpool squad looking in need of a rest, journalist David Lynch has predicted that Slot could turn to three of his best young players instead.
Three youngsters could play against Accrington Stanley
Liverpool have to be a little careful on Saturday. Teams like Accrington beating those such as the Reds is part of the reason the FA Cup remains a special competition.
However, the Reds will still be heavy favourites to win no matter the team Slot puts out.
With such a big game coming away to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, the Dutch coach cannot afford to take too many risks, which may embolden Accrington.
It has already been reported that Federico Chiesa is likely to start on Saturday, but speaking to Anfield Agenda, Lynch says the Italian could be joined in the line-up by Trey Nyoni, Amara Nallo and potentially Jayden Danns.

“I do think there are a few vacancies, obviously it’s important to give some rest out to midfielders,” says he reporter.
“So, I would like to see Trey Nyoni for this one, I think he’s got a real chance of doing so having previously started in the League Cup, so an opportunity for him also.”
“And I think with that injury to Joe Gomez there is a chance we see Amara Nallo involved. He’s still raw, he’s still young, but it’s a home game against League Two opposition. I think in terms of easing him in and giving him the opportunity to shine, this is surely it.
“I’d love to see Jayden Danns get some minutes as well,” Lynch adds. “Whether that’s from the start or not we’ll have to see.”
Who else could feature for Liverpool vs Accrington?
This trio will not be the only young players angling for a start on Saturday, but they are probably the most likely to play.
Nyoni certainly feels like a probable starter, while an issue for Jarell Quansah means that Nallo is likely to get his chance as well.

Otherwise, James McConnell may have his eye on a central midfield berth, but his involvement is likely to hinge on the fitness of Tyler Morton.
Elsewhere, perhaps there’ll be a first ever outing for Rio Ngumoha. It seems probable that the 16-year-old will be on the bench for Liverpool at the very least.
There will of course be a sprinkling of first-team names as well, as the Reds aim to make it to the fourth round once again.
