Liverpool finally returned to winning ways in the Premier League as they beat Tottenham Hotspur by the odd goal in nine.

The Reds are now four points clear of second-placed Chelsea with a game in hand after the Blues were held to a 0-0 draw against Everton earlier today.

Alexis Mac Allister got his name on the scoresheet today as he scored a header to put Liverpool 2-0 up on the night, although Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz scored a brace apiece to steal the show.

That said, the Argentine midfielder singled out another Reds player for special praise after his all-round display vs Tottenham.

Mac Allister missed Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against Fulham due to a suspension but was back in the team for the trip to Tottenham.

The former Brighton man was fantastic in his own right, but it was Dominik Szoboszlai who earned rave reviews for his performance as he also got his name on the scoresheet.

The Hungarian midfielder was heavily involved in whatever Liverpool did on the night and even set up Salah for a close-range tap-in in the second half.

Mac Allister feels Szoboszlai can do a bit of ‘everything’ as he lavished praise on his performance against Tottenham.

“Dom is amazing, he can do everything, on and off the ball he is really good,” said Mac Allister to BBC after the game.

“He played a really good game, same with the attackers. We're in a really good moment.”

Liverpool fans also praised Szoboszlai for his industrious display vs Tottenham as he recorded a goal and an assist in a tricky game away from home.

Szoboszlai’s stats vs Tottenham

As seen below from his underlying numbers, Szoboszlai played one of his best games of the season as the Reds emphatically put Tottenham to the sword.

With Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott also competing for a spot in the team, the Hungarian’s latest display is a timely message to Slot that he’s the right man to complete the trio in midfield currently.
