Arne Slot has been an inspired hiring for Liverpool this season with the Reds looking good to win a historic quadruple.
The Anfield side sit top of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League standings with Liverpool still favourites to win the League Cup despite being 1-0 down in their semi-final series against Tottenham, with the Merseyside giants also in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

With Slot winning praise for taking the likes of Ryan Gravenberch to the next level, the Dutch manager has shown the world how good a coach he is and how perfect a figure he was to succeed a giant of the game in Jurgen Klopp.
Indeed, Slot has somehow managed to take Liverpool to a new level that few expected from the 48-year-old, and Gary Neville has now said he’s seeing something in the Reds this season that he experienced during his playing days with Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Versatile Liverpool playing like Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United
Speaking on the Gary Neville Podcast, the pundit noted how Liverpool have two or three styles of play in their arsenal under Slot depending on the situation, something the former United player noted that the Red Devils used to have under Ferguson.
With Joe Cole lauding Slot’s use of Liverpool’s squad, having multiple game plans has been instrumental to the Anfield side’s success this season under the Dutchman, and Neville has now said that the Reds remind him of his playing days at United with Ferguson.
Neville said: “Liverpool play two or three different styles of play in a game where they play more direct in games, they can then sit back and counterattack, and then they can press, they’ve modified their style within the game to suit the period of the game, and that’s how we played.
“It was the old style of play where you could be a counterattacking team, you could be a high press team, you could be a team that goes direct, or you could play possession football if you were winning 3-0 and wanted to control the game.”
Slot’s Liverpool also compared to Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea
Slot’s Liverpool are on course to become one of the best teams in English football if they can somehow do the impossible this season and win the quadruple, an achievement that no Premier League team has ever managed.
And it’s not just Ferguson’s United that this Reds side is being compared to, with Michael Ballack comparing Liverpool to Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea due to how surprising Slot’s success at Anfield has been this season after replacing a legend in Klopp.
Whether or not Slot’s name will be mentioned alongside the likes of Ferguson or Mourinho remains to be seen, but after the Liverpool manager’s first year at Liverpool, all signs are pointing towards the Dutchman establishing a dynasty on Merseyside with the Reds.
