'I'm not so sure': Chris Sutton makes bold Liverpool v Chelsea prediction with Arne Slot 'blow' confirmed
Today at 10:00 AM
Liverpool v Chelsea is always one of the tastiest fixtures on the Premier League calendar and Chris Sutton has now predicted what will happen this weekend.
Arne Slot’s side face what many perceive as their first real test of the season against a Chelsea side who are looking better and better under Enzo Maresca.
With Cole Palmer leading Chelsea into battle and in fine form again, the Blues will very much fancy themselves to derail the Liverpool title bid.
However, Slot’s men are in good form as well and with Mo Salah, they have a player who is very much equal to and sometimes better than Palmer.
And speaking about how the game might go this weekend, Chris Sutton has nodded towards Slot and Salah in making his score prediction.
Chris Sutton predicts the score of Liverpool v Chelsea
Predicting the game in his weekly column for the BBC, Sutton has suggested things could well be tight between the Reds and the Blues.
But in the end, Sutton expects Mo Salah to be the difference-maker once more.
“Everyone is talking now about the tests coming up for Liverpool, who have started the season with what some people are calling gentler fixtures but, after this game, go to Emirates Stadium next weekend,” Sutton said.
“This is a tough game for them for starters. There has been a great rivalry between these two clubs in the past couple of decades and I don’t think there will be much love lost when they meet on Sunday, either.
“Can Chelsea go to Anfield and dominate Liverpool? I am not so sure. Alisson’s injury is a blow for the Reds but Caoimhín Kelleher is a very capable back-up in goal.
“At the other end, Arne Slot’s playing style seems to suit Mohamed Salah and I am expecting Liverpool’s attacking options to give them the edge.”
Salah v Palmer
The game itself should be an entertaining one and it will be a test for two of the Premier League’s newest coaches to see how far along they both are.
Of course, the battle between Salah and Palmer will be the one everyone is keeping an eye on.
We have two of the best players in Europe on display in this one game and at any given moment, either player could win the game for their respective teams with a moment of magic.

Liverpool and Salah will fancy it at home in front of a raucous Anfield crowd.
However, if one man can silence the Reds fans, it’s Cole Palmer and he’s very much a player the Reds need to stifle this weekend.
