'I think': Jamie Carragher now details how close Mohamed Salah is to becoming the greatest Premier League player ever
Today at 01:00 PM
Mohamed Salah has been a revelation for Liverpool since signing in 2017, with the winger rightfully regarded as one of the best attackers in Premier League history.
With 167 goals in the league, Salah is ranked eighth in the Premier League’s all-time leading scorers charts, with the 32-year-old attacker eight goals off equaling Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in seventh.
Although this last season could be the winger’s last in England, the Egyptian international will leave a legacy that few can match at Liverpool, with Rio Ferdinand recently saying Salah is one of the most devastating players in the world right now.
And Jamie Carragher has now shared his opinion on if Salah is the greatest Premier League player alongside Henry.
Salah slowly catching up to Henry’s title as greatest Premier League player
Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Liverpool defender said Salah is slowly gaining ground on Henry for the title of the greatest Premier League player of all-time, with Carragher also putting Cristiano Ronaldo in the same bracket.
With Henry a big fan of Salah’s style of play, the Liverpool no. 11 would be a worthy competitor for the former Arsenal superstar’s crown, especially with the 32-year-old attacker currently in the form of his life this season.

And for Carragher, Salah is perhaps the player closest to replacing Henry at the top of the Premier League pile, with the former AS Roma star showing no sign of slowing down this season for Arne Slot’s Liverpool.
Carragher said: “I’ve always said Thierry Henry is the greatest player to play in the Premier League, but I think Mo Salah is right on his shoulder. I think of the players who clash right behind Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo is probably one of them, but I think Mo Salah would be the other one.”
Salah will not be focused on becoming the greatest in Premier League history
Salah has established himself as one of the most down-to-earth players in the Premier League since returning to England with Liverpool, with the winger solely set on winning for the team and clinching silverware.
And although Salah will soon be in the debate for the greatest Premier League player in history, the forward might not even be interested in claiming such a label, especially if this season ends in disappointment for the Reds.
Indeed, Salah wants to win trophies and do so by giving it his all, and the attacker will want to win one more Premier League and Champions League title before his time at Liverpool is up next year.
