Liverpool moved back to the top of the Champions League table after a thrilling 2-0 win over Real Madrid.

Alexis Mac Allister put Liverpool ahead early in the second-half of the Champions League tie, with Cody Gakpo heading home a second later on.

Gakpo has celebrated the Liverpool win on social media, with his goal having come after missed penalties from both Kylian Mbappe and Mohamed Salah.

Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham says Liverpool deserved to win, with the Reds now on five Champions League from five.

The Spanish giants meanwhile, who were outclassed by Arne Slot and his players at Anfield, are in 24th place on six points.

Liverpool are also top of the Premier League table, with Slot enjoying a dream start to life on Merseyside after taking over from Jurgen Klopp in the summer.

And the latest result has certainly caught the attention of Anfield legend Jamie Carragher, who wrote on X: "Best team in Europe!"
