It has been a fantastic few weeks for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones as he continues to enjoy a great time on and off the pitch.

Having recently become a dad, Jones has also forced his way into Arne Slot’s starting XI, which led to a call-up from the England senior squad.

Earlier this month, interim boss Lee Carsley raved about Jones, describing him as one of the best players he’s ever worked with.

And the Liverpool midfielder vindicated his manager’s faith in him with a fantastic debut for England.

Starting in a slightly withdrawn role alongside Conor Gallagher – with Jude Bellingham stationed as the number ten – Jones showed his class with some neat touches and kept things tidy in the centre of the park.

However, his crowning moment came late in the game, as he got his name on the scoresheet to put England three goals ahead on the night with an audacious finish.

Jones guided a backheel into the back of the net after receiving a pass from Morgan Gibbs-White as Greece goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos couldn’t stop it despite his best efforts.

Micah Richards hailed Jones’ England debut as ‘extraordinary, but it wasn’t just the former England man who was blown away by his performance.

Jones was named Player of the Match for his fantastic debut as he finally arrived on the greatest stage for his country.

After the game, he posted a series of pictures from his memorable night on Instagram, to which a handful of players responded.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk commented ‘🔥😍’ while Jude Bellingham added ‘❤️❤️❤️’.

The likes of Cody Gakpo, Declan Rice and Anthony Gordon also left comments on the Liverpool midfielder’s picture after his successful England debut.

The Three Lions take on Ireland on Sunday and Jones is likely to keep his place in the team as he aims to continue his rich vein of form for club and country.
