Liverpool face a huge task next summer in potentially replacing Mohamed Salah, with Christian Pulisic emerging as a target for the Reds.

CalcioMercato report that Liverpool have added Pulisic to their list of players who could succeed Salah in 2025, with AC Milan likely to demand as much as €40m (£34m) for the American international, who this season has been outstanding.

The 26-year-old winger has already scored against Liverpool in Milan’s 3-1 UEFA Champions League loss earlier this month, with Pulisic already bagging five goals and two assists in all competitions for the Italian giants.

And for Liverpool, Pulisic could be the perfect replacement for Salah next summer.

Pulisic could be to Arne Slot what Salah was to Jurgen Klopp

Salah is a modern-day Liverpool legend having fired the Reds to a Premier League and Champions League title as well as numerous domestic trophies, with the Egyptian international one of the most important players signed in the Jurgen Klopp era of the Reds.

And with Arne Slot now in the hot seat, Pulisic could be to the Dutch coach what Salah was for Klopp, a superstar Serie A winger with previous experience in the Premier League who could return to England to light up the top-flight.

Although Pulisic is older than when Salah made the move to Anfield in 2017, the former Borussia Dortmund star has more experience in England than his Egyptian counterpart, who unlike the American at Chelsea never had any real run of first-team minutes in west London.

Indeed, Pulisic is showing this season with Milan that he is reaching the peak of his powers, and at Liverpool, the former Klopp favourite could be exactly who the Reds turn to in their bid to replace a club icon in Salah.

Liverpool need to start putting in the work now to sign Pulisic

With Salah expected to leave Liverpool next summer, the Merseyside giants need to start putting in the work to sign Pulisic as soon as possible, with more suitors likely to emerge for the 26-year-old winger if he can keep up his current level of form.

The USA captain is enjoying the time of his life with Milan this season with Pulisic arguably one of the in-form attackers in Europe, and Liverpool know they need to be quick off their mark if they’re to land the winger to replace Salah.

Given the size of the job, Pulisic will feel confident in his abilities to take on a task as big as replacing Salah, yet the former Chelsea man could be up for the task at Liverpool based off his incredible form this season.
