Liverpool went into the October international break on top of the table.

Caoimhin Kelleher is looking forward to helping his team in goal for the foreseeable future as number one keeper Alisson Becker recovers from a hamstring injury. Kelleher has proved himself a worthy number two on several occasions. Liverpool currently sit on top of the table, and he'll be under pressure to keep them there through the fall.

When asked about the league and how he believes they're doing under Arne Slot, Kelleher has faith that the quality of their squad is good enough to keep up the title challenge this season.

"Obviously the standard is crazy at the moment. You have City and Arsenal who have shown in the last few seasons they are title contenders, and we're trying to match them," he began.

He added, "We need to be ambitious, we definitely have the quality within the squad to challenge for a title. It's easy saying that – you need to obviously back it up. If we want to compete we need to be on a similar level to them [City and Arsenal] and keep these performances up and, most importantly, keep the results up."

When club football returns from the October international break, they have a big push through the month, with league games against Chelsea, Arsenal, and Brighton & Hove Albion before Halloween. In addition to that, they have another Champions League game against RB Leipzig to tackle as well.
