Liverpool once again face Premier League opposition

After victory against West Ham, Liverpool have drawn Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. The match will be played on Wednesday, October 30th at 7:30PM GMT/3:30PM EST.

Due to a quirk in the fixture calendar, the Reds will play Brighton again in the league on November 2nd.

In terms of the challenge of the opposition, Liverpool are unlucky to once again face Premier League opposition in the League Cup at this stage. Per Michael Reid, if you feel as though the Reds always draw challenging opponents while other sides seem to have better luck, you're not wrong:

Including Brighton in the next round of the League Cup, Liverpool have now had 18 of their last 27 League/FA Cup third and fourth round draws come against Premier League opponents (67%).

Next highest for this since the start of 2017-18 are Everton and Man City on 14.
