The Swedish striker continues to be at the center of transfer speculation, with Liverpool one of the main destinations mooted.
Liverpool are expected to address the central striker role this summer as Arne Slot has struggled to find his preferred point man in the current squad. Despite a hot start in the role, Luis Diaz has struggled to produce on a consistent basis through the middle, and Diogo Jota has not performed particularly well in the brief windows he is available. Darwin Nunez seemed to be a fit for what Slot has looked for in his central striker in the past, but the Uruguayan has never seemed to earn the trust of the Dutch manager.
Newcastle striker Alexander Isak has continued to be one of the top performers in the Premier League, and has been linked with many of the top clubs. Liverpool have consistently been one of the sides said to be interested, and the rumors continue to grow that Isak is a top target for the Reds.
With speculation swirling, Chris Waugh from the Athletic is reporting that Newcastle are making it clear they have no interest in selling the Swede. According to Waugh, Isak was not considered a saleable asset, even when the club were in danger of being out of PSR compliance.
"Newcastle are adamant that will not be the case, with the message from multiple senior figures being that Isak is not for sale. Even during their rush to satisfy PSR last summer — despite tentative enquiries from Chelsea — Newcastle never considered parting with the Swede."
Isak has three years left on his current contract, so any potential deal would likely require an eyewatering sum to prise him away from Newcastle even if the club are willing to listen to offers.
