'Outstanding': Arne Slot says Liverpool did something against Forest today that 'not many teams could'

Liverpool could only manage a draw against Nottingham Forest with the Reds failing to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.
Diogo Jota’s dramatic equaliser from the bench ensured that the points were shared at the City Ground with Liverpool once again missing out on the chance to go nine points clear at the top of the Premier League standings.

With Jamie Carragher unimpressed by Liverpool’s defending, though, the Reds were far from their best as the Anfield side struggled at times against Forest, who showed why they now sit second in the standings after 21 games.
Yet Arne Slot was impressed by one thing Liverpool did against Forest tonight.
Slot impressed with how many chances Liverpool created vs Forest
Speaking to TNT Sports after the full-time whistle, Slot shared how pleased he was with Liverpool’s second-half performance against Forest, especially with the Reds being the team to break the Garibaldi’s clean-sheet streak.
Forest went 700+ minutes without conceding a Premier League goal during tonight’s fixture, and Slot was pleased to see his Liverpool side break Nuno Espirito Santo’s tactical set-up, wth the Reds arguably unlucky to have not scored a second goal.
Slot said: "I couldn't have asked for more. The second-half performance was outstanding. There aren't many teams who could create as many chances against a team which are defensively so strong but unfortunately, we couldn't score a second.
“We were definitely better than the last time we played Forest. If we can continue to play performances like the second half we won't always be as unlucky to end with a draw."
Who is next up for Liverpool and Slot this January?
Liverpool have arguably got their hardest fixture of the month out of the way and in the books following tonight’s draw at Forest, with the Nottingham side one of the in-form teams in the Premier League this season.

Yet things aren’t getting any easier for Liverpool, who next travel to west London to face a Brentford side who tonight came from behind to draw 2-2 against Manchester City to maintain their incredible home record.
With Ipswich Town and the two final UEFA Champions League league phase games also coming up, Liverpool have some big tests coming up this January, and the Reds will want to be at their absolute best to see out this month in top form.
