'Process of closing' – Deal to sign Liverpool player almost done after quick negotiations

In the summer, Liverpool allowed Stefan Bajčetić to join Red Bull Salzburg on loan and he’s played 890 minutes from 18 games this season.
Pepijn Lijnders, who was Jürgen Klopp’s assistant at Anfield, took the midfielder to the Austrian club. They showed him the exit door last month and appointed Thomas Letsch as his successor.
The Liverpool owned player could leave Red Bull Salzburg and move to Spain in the winter market. That’s according to Atlantico Hoy, who state UD Las Palmas are keen on signing him.
Las Palmas have already signed Andy Pelmard on loan and the report states they are now ‘in the process of closing’ loan deal for Bajčetić. The Reds aren’t pleased with the 20-year-old’s development in Austria and have been looking for a new club for him.
The La Liga side have to be wary of the competition from Celta Vigo and Real Betis. The Spain U21 international was born in Vigo and spent time at Celta Vigo’s academy before joining Liverpool in 2020.
According to the report, Celta Vigo’s interest stands out and they’ll try to use the family connection to tempt him. Manuel Pellegrini’s side view the Liverpool man as a market opportunity.
Arne Slot’s side, for their part, would welcome letting the player go out on loan to Spain in this window.
Atlantico Hoy end by stating: ‘The next few days, the market closes next Monday, February 3rd, will be key to defining his destiny, and Las Palmas seems to be positioning itself as one of the main candidates to take over his loan.’
AS back all of this up and state UD Las Palmas are negotiating the player’s arrival.
