Report: 'Incredible' Liverpool player now being urged to change his international team ahead of latest break
Today at 01:00 PM
The latest international break comes at an inconvenient time for Liverpool.
After 16 games of the season the Reds are absolutely flying, sitting top of both the Premier League and the Champions League.
Having already seen two pauses for national team football this term, it will no doubt frustrate plenty at Anfield that another is on the way.
Given the quality within the Liverpool squad, Arne Slot is set to see a whole host of his players join up with their countries.
It isn’t just the players currently with the Reds who will be in action, though.
The likes of Owen Beck and Lewis Koumas have also played senior international football recently, while there is reportedly a plan being put together for Stefan Bajcetic, too.
Serbia pushing to land Stefan Bacjetic
Many Liverpool supporters had hoped to see Bajcetic playing for Liverpool this season.
But after the 20-year-old spent virtually a season-and-a-half out injured, Slot surprisingly decided to send Bajcetic on-loan.
Working again under former Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders at RB Salzburg, the midfielder has done okay so far, making 10 appearances for the Austrian side.
Focusing on the international break, Bajcetic is of course eligible to play for Spain through birth and Serbia thanks to his father, Srdan, who is from the country.

So far, Bajcetic has opted to represent Spain, but has played just once for the U21 side.
And according to Spanish outlet AS, via the Liverpool ECHO, Serbia are now putting together a plan to convince Bajcetic to switch allegiances.
The plan was said to hinge on whether the Liverpool player was including in Spain’s U21 squad for the upcoming fixtures.
Did Stefan Bajcetic make the Spain U21 squad?
This season has been all about getting Bajcetic back up to speed and ensuring that he still has a future at Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp thought Bajcetic was ‘incredible,’ but the fact is that he has barely played for over a year.
As a result, it was perhaps not a surprise to see that Stefan was not included in the Spain U21 squad to face England and Denmark next week.
Bajcetic is certainly still good enough to make this team – and one day probably the senior side – but for now he may feel like a move towards Serbia would make a little more sense.
Bajcetic had an offer from Barcelona over the summer and you can’t help but feel that had he made that choice, he’d be getting in the Spain U21 side almost by default.
As his future hangs ever so slightly in the balance now, it will be interesting to see which way Bajcetic declares.
