Liverpool have been quiet this January with the Reds likely to end the window with no major sales our signings.

It’s been quite a season for Arne Slot as manager of the Anfield side, with Liverpool top of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League standings despite making just one signing in the summer in the form of Federico Chiesa.

Although Liverpool are interested in Milos Kerkez and are believed to have made a move for Joshua Kimmich, all signs seem to point towards the Merseyside giants ending the January transfer window with no additions or key players leaving.

Yet that could be soon about to change with Stefan Bajcetic, who has been approached by La Liga side Las Palmas over a potential loan deal.

Las Palmas in talks to sign Bajcetic on loan

According to Marca, the Gran Canaria-based side are in talks with Liverpool over signing Bajcetic, who is currently out on loan with Austrian giants RB Salzburg for the season having been recruited by former Anfield coach Pep Lijnders.

With Bajcetic deleting all social media posts linked with Salzburg, there has been a growing feeling throughout January that Liverpool will recall the Spanish youth international and send the midfielder out on loan somewhere else for the second-half of the season.

Indeed, Jurgen Klopp lauded Bajcetic as 'exceptional' during his breakout year with Liverpool having featured regularly for the Reds as a teenager before injury problems got in the way of the midfielder’s development at Anfield.

However, given Liverpool’s stance on recalling Bajcetic is this January, the odds of Las Palmas landing the 20-year-old seem close to zero, especially with the midfielder currently at a club that are competing in the Champions League.

What is Liverpool’s stance on recalling Bajcetic?

Bajcetic’s loan spell at Salzburg to many has been quite the disappointment, with the youngster yet to really adapt to his new team or to develop his game despite having so much potential locked away.

And Liverpool’s stance on wanting to keep Bajcetic at Salzburg is an unusual one, to say the least, especially with the midfielder clearly struggling to get to grips with the Austrian giants and in need of a new loan move.

There’s, of course, every chance Bajectic can turn his Salzburg career around, but with Las Palmas now interested in the midfielder and La Liga a dream league for the 20-year-old, Liverpool might need to bite the bullet on their stance with the promising maestro.
