Liverpool didn’t spend big money in the summer transfer window but remained attentive to market opportunities.

Valencia’s dire financial situation was well-documented, so they swooped for Giorgi Mamardashvili and agreed to let him remain at the club for the ongoing season.

As for Federico Chiesa, he was available for a throw-away price after being frozen out of the Juventus squad, due to which they moved swiftly and brought him to Anfield.

Now, it appears as if another player – who they believe is undervalued – has caught their eye.

With Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Chiesa at the club, it could be argued that an attacker is the last thing Liverpool need.

However, in recent months, Omar Marmoush has been linked with a move to Anfield, while it was revealed earlier today that Liverpool’s interest in Rayan Cherki is legit.

According to a report from Spanish newspaper Super Deporte, the Reds are ‘closely following’ Raul Moro, who plies his trade for Real Valladolid.

The 21-year-old can play as a winger or a second striker, making him an intriguing option to have in attack.

The report states that Valladolid value him at around £8m, a fee Liverpool and his other suitors – like Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur – believe to be a bargain for a player of his ability.

Moro’s stats this season

Moro spent one year at the Barcelona academy and made his name in Lazio, after which he had loan spells at Ternana and Oviedo before landing up at Valladolid last year.

His first season in La Liga has already been a hit as he continues to prove that he more than belongs at the top level.

it might be too soon for Moro to move to Anfield, but the Reds know a market opportunity when they see one, so keep an eye on this one.
