Report: Liverpool now in touch with agent of 'exceptional' player and are getting closer to £10m bargain move

Liverpool look all set to end the January transfer window empty-handed in terms of new signings.
Reds supporters have had to be patient over recent times, with their team taking a measured approach to the market.
While this may be frustrating for some, Liverpool have a superb record at identifying and bringing the right players to Anfield, and that is unlikely to change any time soon.
Part of the Liverpool owners‘ philosophy – one that is perhaps the most readily criticised – is their preference for finding value for money in a difficult market.
This strategy has allowed the Reds to pick up some real bargain finds in the past, while their Premier League rivals waste money on expensive flops.
And with one eye already on the summer, Liverpool look like they could be about to pick up what would be another value for money addition.
Liverpool move closer to Anis Hadj Moussa signing
Although January additions now look unlikely to happen for Liverpool, there is little question that it could be a busy summer.
One of the areas in which Arne Slot may wish to strengthen the Liverpool squad is in the forward line, where questions linger over the futures of Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah and even Diogo Jota.
With that in mind, there have been reports that Liverpool are looking at Anis Hadj Moussa of Feyenoord after what has been a breakout season in Rotterdam. And according to Africa Foot, the Reds have stepped up their pursuit of Hadj Moussa.
While it is claimed that a January transfer to Anfield is improbable for the 22-year-old, Liverpool are said to be ‘the closest’ club to lining Hadj Moussa up for a move at the end of the season.

The Reds are even said to have put chief scout Barry Hunter in touch with the Algerian’s entourage to discuss a summer deal.
Liverpool are reportedly looking to finalise a bargain price of around £10m for Hadj Moussa, although it’s conceded that this price could increase if he continues to do well for Feyenoord.
Hadj Moussa could be ideal for Liverpool
Hadj Moussa has come to wider attention for his performances in the Champions League for Feyenoord this season.
Slot’s successor at Feyenoord, Brian Priske, hailed Hadj Moussa as being ‘exceptional‘ and ‘outstanding’ during the 3-3 draw against Manchester City in November, for example.
Competition | Apperances | Goals | Assists |
Eredivisie | 15 | 3 | 1 |
Champions League | 5 | 3 | 0 |
KNVB Cup | 2 | 0 | 0 |
A left-footed, right-sided forward, the Algeria international is exactly the kind of profile Liverpool could do with, especially if Salah does end up leaving.
The price is evidently likely to be more than the £10m quoted by Africa Foot, but even if Hadj Moussa ends up being twice that amount, he would still represent value.
This is certainly one to keep an eye on, as Michael Edwards aims to unearth his next great bargain for Liverpool.
