Report: Real Madrid making new Trent Alexander-Arnold plan after 'laughable' Liverpool response
Today at 07:30 AM
Trent Alexander-Arnold is a target for Real Madrid, with all signs pointing towards the Liverpool defender joining the Spanish giants at some point in 2025.
The England international’s contract is due to expire at the end of this season with Liverpool now resigned to the fact Alexander-Arnold will leave the club this year, with Madrid the out-right favourite to sign the 26-year-old right-back.
With Madrid making an offer to sign Alexander-Arnold this month, though, there are still some fears that the Liverpool defender could leave in the January transfer window, a move that would be crippling for the Reds in their bid to win the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
And Madrid could now be about to make a renewed attempt to sign Alexander-Arnold this window.
Madrid weighing up £25m offer for Liverpool’s Alexander-Arnold
According to AS, Madrid are considering making a new offer worth as much as €30m (£25m) for Alexander-Arnold after Liverpool viewed Los Blancos’ last bid for their star fullback at £15m as ‘laughable’.
As per the report, Madrid are desperate to sign a new right-back this January with Lucas Vasquez the only first-team option Carlo Ancelotti has at his disposal for the rest of the season, with Dani Carvajal out with an ACL injury.

And Alexander-Arnold is Madrid’s main target for the position, with the reigning Spanish and European champions looking to add to their growing squad of superstars having signed Jude Bellingham in 2023 and Kylian Mbappe last summer.
Indeed, Alexander-Arnold is going to end up as a Madrid player one way or the other this year, yet for Liverpool, keeping hold of the defender for the remainder of the season could be the difference between a second Premier League title or yet another close-call with the biggest prize in English football.
Alexander-Arnold will need to give it his all between now and the end of the season
Alexander-Arnold’s future looks destined to be away from Liverpool regardless of what happens this season, with Madrid’s interest in signing the 26-year-old defender simply too great for any player to ignore.
And for Alexander-Arnold, the defender needs to ensure he ends this season on a massive high with Liverpool, with the fullback aware that he needs to give it his all if he’s to end his time at Anfield on the best of terms.
Indeed, Alexander-Arnold will go down as a Liverpool legend after everything the right-back has done for the Reds since breaking into the first-team under Jurgen Klopp as a teenager, and the defender will want to give the fans the perfect parting gift in the form of the Premier League title.
