Report: What Liverpool expect Mohamed Salah to do as his contract winds down at the end of the season

Liverpool run the risk of losing Mohamed Salah for free at the end of the season as his current contract expires in the summer of 2025.
The Egyptian has been one of the most consistent players in the club’s history since arriving from Roma in 2017 and is no closer to putting pen to paper on an extension.
Salah has keen admirers in the Saudi Pro League, which is only natural considering he could be available on a free transfer in a few months.
And with time running out, the Reds believe they know where Salah’s future lies beyond the end of the current season.
Liverpool expect Mohamed Salah to leave on a free transfer
Aside from Saudi, Salah has also been linked with a free transfer to Barcelona, who are flying this season under new manager Hansi Flick.
Earlier this month, Jan Aage Fjortoft predicted Salah to move to the Middle East, naming Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush as his potential replacement at Anfield.
And now, TEAMtalk have re-affirmed those claims, adding that Liverpool expect their talisman to seal a lucrative free transfer to one of the clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
The report also states that Richard Hughes is on the lookout for potential replacements, with Napoli attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia among the names being monitored.
Salah’s agent sends cryptic message
Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa is a man well-known to the Anfield faithful, with the Colombian a close ally of the Liverpool forward.
Over the years, he hasn’t shied away from sharing his thoughts on social media and was at it once again last month.
Abbas hit out at journalists for publishing fabricated news involving Salah, adding that ‘inside information’ about the Egyptian’s future is always made up as such sources don’t exist in the first place.
It remains to be seen how this saga pans out, but Abbas will undoubtedly play an instrumental role in Salah’s next move.
