Liverpool head into another weekend of Premier League action sitting pretty at the top of the table.

The Reds have the chance to go four points clear on Saturday as they take on Crystal Palace in the lunchtime fixture.

Palace have been disappointing under Oliver Glasner so far this season. Still without a win, the Eagles find themselves down in 18th position.

Nevertheless, Selhurst Park is not an easy ground to visit. Liverpool know full-well the dangers an early kick-off trip to South London can pose.

But despite the potential pitfalls, the Reds are still heavy favourites to get the win and extend their lead at the summit of the Premier League.

According to insiders at some of their rivals, though, clubs across the country are not too worried about Liverpool under Arne Slot.

Rival clubs ready for Liverpool drop-off

Taking everything into account, Slot has had an unbelievable start to life at Liverpool.

By beating Bologna on Wednesday, the Dutchman became the fist manager or head coach in Liverpool history to win eight of his first nine games in charge.

Given the size of the boots he had to fill when taking over from Jurgen Klopp, that is a really impressive thing to manage.

Despite that, though, The Independent claim in their ‘Reading The Game’ newsletter, that Liverpool’s Premier League rivals are not worried by Slot’s rampaging start.

They claim that the belief from insiders within other clubs is that the Liverpool head coach has benefited from a ‘forgiving’ run of early fixtures.

Rivals are also reportedly pointing to the fact that the Reds have not had to endure any real injury issues yet and that has aided them in their impressive start.

Finally, other sides are said to have been highlighting how easily Bologna played through Liverpool on Wednesday as a sign that the Reds will be found out as the season goes on.

Liverpool should pin this in the dressing room

While it would perhaps be fair to agree with all three of the points raised by Liverpool’s rivals, this should still act as a motivating factor for the Reds.

Although the Reds have had a decent run of fixtures, they’ve still had to get the business done.

Aside from the slip-up against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool have quite comfortably put away every team they’ve faced so far and that does count for something.

So, while rivals wait for the Reds to fall, Slot should be pinning this piece up in the dressing room to challenge the Liverpool squad to prove these neighsayers wrong.

Pass the test of Palace on Saturday and it will no doubt be put down as being another favourable match-up for the Reds. But no game is easy in the Premier League and Liverpool are slowly making their case, whatever everyone else may think.
