'Respect that so much': Daniel Sturridge makes 'crazy aura' claim and shares why he really likes Arne Slot

Liverpool battled to yet another Champions League win on Tuesday as they extended their perfect record in the competition.
The Reds headed into the match against Lille knowing that a win would secure a top eight finish and safe passage into the last-16.
And although it was not the most thrilling of evenings at Anfield, the job was duly done, with Liverpool picking up a 2-1 win.
Goals from Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott either side of a Jonathan David strike ended Lille’s four-month unbeaten run.
After the game, Arne Slot was typically level-headed when assessing his team’s performance during an interview with Amazon Prime Sport.
And after seeing the Liverpool head coach give his view on the match, former Reds striker Daniel Sturridge was left in awe of what he’d seen.

Slot was happier than he occasionally has been when interviewed by the TV cameras this season.
Although Liverpool have won far more often than not, the 46-year-old can be more than a little critical of his team’s displays.
But while the Reds were not at their best against Lille, Slot was clearly pleased with what he’d seen on the night.
And after watching the Dutch coach give his assessment, Sturridge raved about something akin to a ‘crazy aura’ that Slot had been giving off.

“I really like him,” said the pundit. “There’s something about him when he talks to us. I’m not going to say he’s got a crazy aura, but he’s not giving too much away, he’s not selling a dream, he’s just being real.
“He doesn’t seem like he’s satisfied at all. When things are going so well you may see a manager a little more boisterous, but he seems like he’s just level, all the time.
“He seems like he’s very honest and straight to the point and I respect that so much,” added Sturridge.
Slot keeping things grounded
Slot’s no-nonsense attitude has certainly been a breath of fresh air for Liverpool this season.
For all of Jurgen Klopp’s qualities – and there are reams of them – the legendary manager was not necessarily known for his calmness.
Whereas Klopp’s animated touchline persona absolutely worked for him and his team’s style of football, though, Slot is the embodiment of his.
Given that this is still pretty much completely a Liverpool squad built in the image of Klopp, that is something very special indeed that Slot has managed to do.
Sturridge is not the only one to have been impressed as Arne’s Reds continue to conquer.
