Liverpool are among the clubs supposedly in for the starlet.

The International Break is almost over which means that we've got actual football to look forward to on the horizon. But that also means we're scraping the dregs for news and any goings on as it relates to Liverpool Football Club.

Which means that we are living in the time of the Transfer Rumor Mongers. The slingers of salacious transfer dealings thrive in these lulls of action. While they never fully recede even during the busiest of periods (see all the news around potential dealings even during the most crowded period on the fixture list), they do manage to end up pushed against the fringes for a bit.

While it may be a bit of a stretch for the Trent Alexander-Arnold rumor, for example, to have only appeared because it happened during the break, it is definitely something that ate up more oxygen and discussion than something this obvious maybe should have. And, in truth, it's likely this specific discourse will continue until after Liverpool's match next week.

To that end, some mongers have decided to seize on another standard equation (obvious positional need with Team A + player likely deemed surplus in same position from Team B = new rumor) and have offered that Liverpool's need in attack means they're monitoring Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz. The 19 year old forward already with 24 appearances for Juve this season does strike one as a potentially decent deal. But a look at his production - namely, only 5 goals to his credit - do a lot to throw cold water on the deal.

Because, let's be honest, if the point here is to replace Darwin Nuñez, I don't think 5 goals is going to cut it. Even allowing for the fact that other clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea are indicated as also showing interest.

The truth is that Liverpool would necessarily be in the market for someone that is leading the line and chipping in more goals - even if it's in a lower league, the tally would need to be higher. And that's all before we consider the individual player's fit in Slot's system.

While we can't write anything completely off, consider us skeptical of this rumor.
