Rumour Mongering: Madrid Star Linked with Liverpool and Manchester City

Star midfielder Federico Valverde is being courted (yet again) by the Reds and Citizens according to the latest Spanish transfer chatter.
With Real Madrid struggling to integrate Kylian Mbappé into what had previously been a cohesive and effective group, Los Blancos trail Barcelona by six points in La Liga and have just two wins from their first four league phase Champions League matches.
There have also been fewer minutes for some of last season's key players and rumblings of tension between some of their stars, including Federico Valverde, and manager Carlo Ancelotti. Coincidentally, Valverde has in the past been linked with Liverpool.
It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to put this two and two into the mix and get a transfer rumour out of it, which is exactly what the Spanish press including Fichajes are doing in an effort to help fill the proverbial column inches during an international break.
According to the chatter, Madrid have no intention to sell but that hasn't stopped both the Reds and recent league rivals Manchester City making their interest clear to the player, laying foundations for a potential swoop should the situation not improve.
The now 26-year-old Valverde has been with Madrid since 2017 and for the past few years any time the Spanish giants have signed a new midfielder he's been linked with a potential move—only to in the end stay and maintain his place as a key player for them.
Having made 17 appearances this season and with a contract that runs through the summer of 2027, for our part we aren't really expecting that to change and for him to actually end up in the Premier League any time soon no matter the Spanish press chatter.
