'This could be a show': Peter Crouch says Liverpool could be about to do something 'resounding' to Man City
Today at 09:00 AM
Liverpool face a potentially defining day in their season as they take on Manchester City on Sunday.
The Reds have put themselves into a commanding position, towering eight points above the champions heading into the game.
However, City are still the team to beat in the Premier League having won each of the past four titles.
Liverpool have a decent record against Pep Guardiola’s side at Anfield and have beaten them four times in their past eight visits to the stadium.
Another win on Sunday would put the Reds 11 points clear of the team who occupy second-place in the table and would well and truly mark Liverpool out as favourites to win the league.
With the two clubs in opposite form going into the match, former Liverpool player Peter Crouch has predicted the eventual score.
Peter Crouch backs ‘resounding’ Liverpool win
City’s problems over recent matches have been well documented. The champions are currently on an unprecedented run of six games without a win.
Rodri’s absence has hit them hard while they also look set to be without Mateo Kovacic on Sunday.
Liverpool, by contrast, could hardly be in better form. The Reds have won 17 out of 19 games all season, and have tasted victory in each of their last six matches.

“I’m going to go 3-1 Liverpool. Pretty resounding,” said the former striker.
“I think City are struggling at the moment and the confidence is so high at Liverpool, they’re getting the job done and I think this could be a show.
“I think there’ll go 11 points clear, I think they’ll be dominant and they’ll win 3-1.”
No time for complacency for Liverpool
It feels as though Liverpool have not gone into a game against Man City with so much confidence for a long, long time.
While it is obviously a good thing that the Reds are favourites on Sunday, they should also be wary of complacency creeping in.
This is an experienced Liverpool squad with enough players who have been there and done it for this not to be a problem.

But the Reds must be cautious not to let their guard down and take anything lightly on Sunday. City still have terrific players who can hurt Liverpool if given the opportunity.
Still, a 3-1 Liverpool win over Guardiola’s team at Anfield in November 2019 put the Reds eight points clear and set them up for a Premier League title. The same again – producing an even bigger lead – would be sensational.
