Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane formed one of the most exciting attacking trios in Liverpool’s history as they won the lot under Jurgen Klopp.

While most of the goalscoring burden fell on the two Africans – who played together from 2017-2022 before Mane’s departure to Bayern Munich – Firmino was the heart and soul of Klopp’s team as he led the Liverpool press from the front.

The Brazilian won seven major trophies at Anfield before leaving the club in the summer of 2023 to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli on a free transfer.

And Salah has shared what he felt in the aftermath of Firmino’s departure, who was a firm fan favourite at Anfield.

The summer of 2023 turned out to be an eventful one for Liverpool as several long-standing players of Klopp’s squad decided to move on.

The likes of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho joined Firmino in moving to the Middle East, while James Milner joined Brighton on a free transfer after his contract expired.

Salah says Firmino’s departure led to some serious introspection as he vowed to enjoy every minute as a Liverpool player.

"The thing I appreciate the most is when I go out in the morning and see the guys. We shared some unbelievable memories,” said the Egyptian.

“When Bobby Firmino left, you realised that everyone would leave one day. So I don't take that for granted. When I go there, I try to have a laugh with them and have a good time together.”

Will Salah follow Firmino to Saudi?

With his contract set to expire next summer, Liverpool fans sent a public message to FSG to retain Salah ahead of their 2-0 win against Aston Villa at Anfield.

The Egyptian has been in fine form this season – scoring and assisting ten goals apiece across all competitions – but has thus far been unable to agree terms on an extension.

Salah has keen admirers in the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Hilal looking to snap him up in 2025.

Firmino still plies his trade in the Middle East, so if Salah doesn’t renew his deal with Liverpool, it remains to be seen if he follows his former teammate to the SPL.
