Liverpool head into the November international break as Europe's in form team as they sit top of both the Premier League and Champions League tables.
Liverpool enter the November international break not just top of the Premier League table but also top of the new-look Champions League league phase table. There may have been question marks heading into Arne Slot's first season in charge, but it seems clear now they are not just Europe's in form side but one of the best by any measure.
Slot's Reds have met every challenge thrown at them so far besting Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea and RB Leipzig. Where others have stumbled against Brighton and Bournemouth, Liverpool have earned results, with a draw against pre-season darlings Arsenal and a shock loss to Nottingham Forrest their only stumbles.
"We're only in November but I see us dealing with difficult moments pretty well," was captain Virgil van Dijk's take on the Reds' success so far and what they need to continue to do in order to stay successful. "We had a couple of games where we bounced back after going behind. The mentality of the boys to turn it around was amazing.
"Maybe towards the end of a season the pressure is higher. Then everyone has to be there and step up. I can't predict how the last part of the season will go. But so far, so good. I just want to enjoy it. All of us are privileged and blessed to be playing for Liverpool and have players around you with so much quality, so let's see what it brings."
Things don't get any easier for Liverpool following the November international break, with a potential trap game on the road against Southampton when they return to action and then a pair of headlining matches against Real Madrid at Anfield in the Champions League and pre-season favourites Manchester City at Anfield in the Premier League.
