Liverpool recorded yet another win in the Premier League on Saturday as they beat Aston Villa 2-0.
The Reds were not at their best for much of the evening but kept Villa at arms length before killing them off just before the end.
With Unai Emery’s side building up a head of steam heading towards the last stages of the game, Mohamed Salah did what he does best and slotted a big goal past Emi Martinez.
The pressure was relieved at Anfield as supporters realised they were going five points clear of Man City in the Premier League table.
However, there was still a moment of worry as VAR checked for a penalty at the other end.
But with Villa defender Pau Torres on the ground in the Liverpool penalty box, VAR cleared the challenge from Ryan Gravenberch. No penalty. And after the decision was made, Virgil van Dijk was spotted giving his thoughts to Torres.

This was the second time in the second-half that Torres ended up on the deck in the Liverpool penalty area.
For the first, the £31m defender went down after having his shirt pulled by Conor Bradley. It was tug from the right-back but Torres was looking for the penalty.
And just before Salah’s goal, replays showed that it was actually the Villa man who made the first contact on Gravenberch.
Still, Torres milked the contact for all it was worth, even getting treatment long after Liverpool’s celebrations had died down.

Perhaps still irked by the first attempt to win a spot-kick, the TNT Sports cameras spotted Van Dijk giving his opposite number a bit of an earful as he received the physio’s attention.
“You’re six foot four mate,” the Liverpool captain could be seen saying to Torres, with a wry smile on his face.
The 26-year-old was then seen hobbling off as he sheepishly accepted that his theatrics had not had the desired effect.
Liverpool ride Aston Villa wave
Although this was clearly no penalty for Villa, it was still a hearts in mouths moment for Liverpool supporters.
Reds fans had to endure a bit of an aimless second half from their team as they made the last push before the international break.

In reality, they were thankful for Caoimhin Kelleher against Villa as the goalkeeper made two brilliant saves at the end of the first-half.
Liverpool will have to be better when they return later this month with games against Real Madrid and Man City on the horizon.
But as far as wins go, this is certainly a big one. Van Dijk knew it, Salah as well. These boys have been here before. It’s on.
