Liverpool secured a 3-2 win against Southampton after a thrilling game of football at St Mary’s.
Arne Slot has now won 16 of his 18 games in charge of the club and once again found a way to steer his side to a victory despite a spirited showing from the hosts.

Dominik Szoboszlai broke the deadlock, but Southampton turned the tide in their favour thanks to goals from Adam Armstrong and Mateus Fernandes.
However, Mohamed Salah stepped up to the plate and scored a second-half brace to give his side all three points.
Slot and the Liverpool players were buzzing at the full-time whistle and the Dutchman showed his class by acknowledging the support from the traveling fans.

The two sides were separated by 24 points in the table, but the game turned out to be a much better contest than what was expected as the hosts played out of their skin.
However, it wasn’t to be for them despite their best efforts as the Reds showed their class in the second half to get all three points.
Liverpool were on the wrong end of a controversial penalty call in the first half, but it didn’t come back to haunt them as Slot and co stumbled over the line.
After the game, the traveling fans were in full voice as they chanted Slot’s name at the St Mary’s.
The Dutchman took notice of this and waved back to the crowd, capping off a tricky away day with three priceless points.
Salah shines vs Southampton
Despite being relatively quiet for 60 minutes, Salah stepped up when his team needed him and scored two second-half goals, the second of which was a penalty that won the game for Liverpool.
