Liverpool have enjoyed an impressive run in the Premier League this season under Arne Slot, who joined them from Feyenoord in June 2024.
The Dutchman wanted to raid his former club to sign Dávid Hancko last summer and even held talks with him. This was revealed by the centre-back in December.
Liverpool are still chasing Hancko and are aiming to sign him in the summer window. This was reported by Voetbal International journalist Süleyman Öztürk last month, and he also stated Slot wants to reunite with him at Anfield.
The Slovakia international wants to focus only on the Eredivisie side and think about the future in the summer. 1908.nl have relayed comments made by the defender, who has been linked to Liverpool and Juventus.
Feyenoord were eliminated from the Champions League after losing 4-1 on aggregate to Inter Milan.
The outlet asks whether the clash at the San Siro was Hancko’s last European fixture with the Dutch club. They state Hancko was calm when addressing the recent transfer links.
“There have been a lot of rumours about me in the last two or three windows, especially last summer and winter. But for me it was quickly clear after a conversation with the director [Dennis te Kloese] that nothing was going to happen in the last window,” he said.
“From that moment on I was only focused on the Champions League and the future. We’ll talk about it again after this season, but I am now fully focused on Feyenoord.”
The Liverpool target’s comments sounds like he would be prepared to change clubs in the next window. His contract at Feyenoord lasts until 2028.
