Manchester City and Tottenham have been following AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders for months, something AC Milan are aware of.

That's according to Calciomercato, who report that the Italian side are moving to lock Reijnders to a new deal to keep him from the Premier League.

The midfielder has been growing in importance in Milan and was the star of the show for the Italian side in this week's win over Real Madrid in the Champions League.

CM say he 'showed off total football' in that game, adding to his growing reputation and praise, with Frank Rijkaard insisting he was on the path to becoming one of the best midfielders in the world not long ago.

The 26-year-old has admirers the world over and both Manchester City and Tottenham 'have been following him for months. The Premier League duo will face frustration in any attempts to get him, though.

That's because the doors to a renewal at Milan are opening, with the two parties moving towards a new agreement at this moment in time.

This could be signed at the beginning of 2025 that will extend his contract until 2030 and see his salary rise from €1.7m to €3.5m net per season. Talks are already underway with Reijnders agent, his father, and there is 'great confidence' that a deal will be agreed and signed.

That'll come as bad news for Manchester City and Tottenham who have seemingly been warming up to a potential move for the midfielder.
