Hugo Viana won't be leading Manchester City rebuild in January – Sporting remaining his focus for now

Hugo Viana will not lead any potential Manchester City transfer efforts in the January transfer window, as he remains focused on Sporting Club de Portugal.
That's according to O Jogo, who report that Viana won't be turning his attention to Manchester City until February at the earliest.
The newspaper reports that Sporting want to add a left-winger to their squad in the January transfer window as they look to bolster their options and fill a perceived hole.
The search for that player will be headed up by Viana, who will still be in charge of operations and therefore take over this particular case.
Manchester City's future sporting director will, until February, be more in Alvalade than in England. After the January transfer window is done, he will more in England than Alvalade.
Bernardo Morais Palmeiro will then replace him, although this will only take place at the end of the season.
For now, Viana's focus remains on Sporting and he will have full duties there rather than potentially starting a rebuild at Manchester City in January.
The newspaper doesn't state he'll be completely out of the picture at the Etihad mind you, just that his main focus will be on Sporting before turning his attention to Manchester City in February.
