Manchester City need 'monstrous proposal' to sign player – Club waiting to see if they offer it

Manchester City want to sign Andrea Cambiaso from Juventus this month but need a 'monstrous proposal' to get him.
That's according to Calciomercato, who say Manchester City are targeting the full-back as part of their January recruitment drive.
They say that Manchester City's desire to sign the defender is 'resounding from England'. As far as everyone is concerned, they want the 24-year-old left-back immediately.
That's because Pep Guardiola wants to revolutionise his current squad after a difficult first half of the season. Cambiaso is seen as a player who could be a 'new fixed point' as he is good defensively and offensively. It would also solve Manchester City's longstanding left-back issue.
Cambiaso has shown an interest in the move, although nothing concrete has happened yet. Manchester City have simply asked for information and left it at that. That could change in the final two weeks of the window.
Juventus wouldn't think twice if they were presented with a 'normal offer', though. Cambiaso is a key player, particularly for Thiago Motta.
However, if Manchester City were to make a 'monstrous proposal' for the player then that stance would soften. In fact, they would 'hardly be able to say no'. This offer would need to be one that is 'lofty, important' and can 'change all scenarios'.
In other words, Manchester City would have to offer a huge sum to Juventus for him. That's something they're capable of doing, of course, so now all eyes are on whether they do.
