Manchester City are 'rushing' to get a deal for Palmeiras defender Vitor Reis finalised after securing a verbal agreement with the youngster over his contract.
That's according to UOL, who say Reis is 'waiting' for Manchester City to final an agreement with Palmeiras and make the move to Europe.
The outlet explains that Reis has already reached a verbal agreement on a long-term contract with Manchester City. He is now waiting for an agreement between them and the Brazilian club.
The Citizens are now 'rushing' to close the transfer for around €40m, with the possibility of including variable amounts in the deal. Pep Guardiola is keen get the youngster through the door now and reinforce his squad this month rather than wait until the summer for him.
It is he who has made a specific 'request' for the player, who has already been targeted by Brighton. Palmeiras have always evaluated the youngster at above €30m.
Should the move go through at any figure above €20m he will become the most expensive defender in the history of Brazilian football. That honour is currently held by Lucas Beraldo, who was sold to PSG for €20m in 2023.
Manchester City have to reach an agreement with Palmeiras first, but that process is well underway and they're rushing to get it done.
