How Our Team See Saturday's Match

Ahh, the first dirty oil money derby of the season as Newcastle United welcome Manchester City to St James's Park. The Blues saw their 100% start come to an end last week, but they remain unbeaten in the Premier League, while Newcastle suffered their first defeat of the season at Fulham.

It's a match that traditionally has resulted in a City win and a fair few goals, but how will Saturday's lunchtime match pan out? An, more importantly, will any of our team get a spot-on prediction?

Here's what our guys think for Newcastle.

Saul

Big match and sneaky difficult one. City win as they have something to prove.

Newcastle 1-2 City

Will

This fixture has very much been a spectacle for the neutral in the last few years or so with many high scoring games, but that's not really something I see again this season.

Newcastle have had good results at the start of this season, but haven't fully been firing in terms of on pitch performances, with keyman Aleksander Isak and Anthony Gordon somewhat under par so far this campaign.

City, meanwhile, haven't been great defensively but have excelled going forwards, contrary to Newcastle's solid looking backline yet slightly blunt looking forward line.

City should edge a win over the line, but I think the game might well be lethargic for a neutral to watch due to Guardiola's insistence on taking the sting out of the game.

Newcastle United 1-3 Manchester City

Thomas

Welcome to Double-Pivot FC. The loss of Rodri will certainly be felt, but are Newcastle the team to exploit it? I feel that City will find a way through against the Magpies. Haaland continues his goal-scoring streak, and City collect three well-earned points at St. James' Park.

Newcastle 1-2 City

Pete

City have kept four clean sheets in five away matches in the Premier League and I think that will set the tone for Saturday. The Blues have played twice since Newcastle last played and that may be a factor, but not one that will damage the Blues chances. I'm going for a low-scoring, dull match with barely anything happening at all.

Newcastle 0-2 City

How We Did Last Time?

No one managed to get a spot-on prediction in midweek, however, Saul will be rueing that late goal by Watford to spoil his perfect score. He should really have known not to predict a City clean sheet. The rest of us were on the silly juice and those predictions are far to embarrassing to show here.

We'll show them on the table instead:
