Abdukodir Khusanov is expected at Manchester City at the start of next week to undergo a medical and complete his move from Lens.

That's according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, who reports that the player has been left out of the Lens squad for the clash with Le Havre because of the impending move.

According to his information, Manchester City and Lens are now in agreement on a €50m deal, bonuses included, for the youngster. That will be a record sale for the French club.

The 20-year-old is now 'expected' to in England at the start of next week to undergo a medical examination and then sign for Manchester City. He will become their first signing of the January transfer window.

Pep Guardiola and his team appear keen to splash the cash this month to strengthen the Spaniard's squad after a difficult first half of the season.

Improving the defence appears to be a priority and Khusanov may be one of several additions in that department before the end of the month.

For now, the defender appears to be on his way to the Etihad, with a medical booked in for the beginning of next week.
