Manchester United are currently struggling under the management of Erik ten Hag with the team unable to secure a victory to save their lives.

The club looks clueless about how to turn the situation around, as they languish 14th in the Premier League table with a negative goal difference.

Club football is currently on a break, with international duty taking over. This gives Ten Hag two weeks to go back to the drawing room and recalibrate his plans, and find a way to turn the narrative around when club football resumes in a couple of weeks.

One manager Manchester United looked at was Serie A-winning manager Simone Inzaghi who is currently with Inter Milan. However, as per Sport Italia, the Italian has turned down the chance to make a move to Old Trafford and head the Red Devils project.

Manchester United held talks with Inzaghi with the outlook of him taking over from Ten Hag immediately but things didn’t pan out as they expected. The manager has reaffirmed his commitment to Inter Milan.

Inzaghi is one of the highest-paid managers in the world and makes around £105,000 a week. He has a completely different ideology in football to Erik ten Hag and his teams are usually built on a strong defence with clinical counter-attacking.

Should Manchester United want to replace Ten Hag immediately, they have the likes of Thomas Tuchel and Xavi Hernandez who are currently free agents and without a job. Links to Ruud van Nistelrooy taking over are gaining steam over the last few days.

At this point, it looks like Ten Hag will get some more time to try and change the narrative. However, he is enjoying a very short lease of life and it won’t be long before Man Utd pull the plug if things don’t change. Let’s wait and see how it goes.
