It feels like it has been ages since the last time Manchester United played a game of football and the international break and the subsequent FA Cup weekend has ensured that the fans have had to wait a while to see their team in action.

Ruben Amorim has had the chance to work with the squad in this extended break and one can expect the team to show some improvement on the pitch going forward.

However, the Red Devils have a difficult game immediately after the break against Nottingham Forest who have been very impressive this season.

Nuno’s team are in the Champions League places, unlike Man Utd who are languishing mid-table but Amorim will be confident of his side to put in a solid display to emerge victorious against Nottingham Forest on the night. Here is how we think he could set his team up against their opponents.

Man Utd Predicted Lineup vs Forest

Andre Onana is set to retain his place in between the sticks which comes as no surprise and Ruben Amorim has been boosted by the return of Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro for this game. The three center-backs on the night could be Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire and Noussair Mazraoui.

Diogo Dalot is set to start on one of the flanks as a wing-back with Patrick Dorgu in line for his first Premier League appearance since February, having served his three-match ban after getting a red card. This should come as a boost to Amorim.

Manuel Ugarte is expected to partner Bruno Fernandes in midfield as the duo look to control the game. Amorim confirmed that Kobbie Mainoo was close to returning although he is unlikely to be ready by the time this game rolls out.

In attack, Mason Mount could be in line for his first start in months, with the Englishman having recovered from his injury and could be partnered by Joshua Zirkzee who has been very impressive in recent weeks with some promising displays playing as a withdrawn 10.

Rasmus Hojlund is likely to get the nod to lead the line and will be hoping to build on his goalscoring display from just before the break. The Dane also netted for Denmark during the break and the confidence from these strikes should do him the world of good.

It is an important game for Man Utd to show that they can build on their recent performances and show steady improvement and let’s wait and see how Ruben Amorim’s men fare against a tricky Nottingham Forest side on the night.

Predicted Man Utd XI vs Forest: Onana; De Ligt, Maguire, Mazraoui, Dalot, Dorgu; Ugarte, Fernandes; Mount, Zirkzee, Hojlund
