Club football returns to Old Trafford tomorrow after a couple of weeks of international break and it is a game that most Manchester United fans must be dreading.

With just three wins from 11 games so far, Erik ten Hag is living on thin ice at Manchester United. The Brentford fixture is a tricky one for the Dutch coach to navigate and he needs to get everything spot on to get the win.

For the must-win game against Brentford, we take a look at how we think Erik ten Hag can set his Man Utd team up. The Bees have been performing at a high level so far this season and the Dutch coach will want to line up a strong XI.

Strongest possible 4-2-3-1 Man Utd starting lineup vs Brentford

In goal, Andre Onana is certain to start, with the Cameroonian one of the lone shining lights in a struggling Manchester United team this season. In defense, Noussair Mazraoui is fit and ready to return at right-back with Diogo Dalot likely to occupy the opposite flanks.

The center-back duo is likely to comprise of Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez. In midfield, Manuel Ugarte will be assessed and will hopefully start alongside Christian Eriksen. The other option would be to start Casemiro instead of the Uruguayan.

Bruno Fernandes is likely to start as the #10 and will want to step up his performances. Amad Diallo is set to start from the right with Marcus Rashford likely to start from the left. Rasmus Hojlund is the most suited candidate to start as the number nine.

Off the bench, the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Mason Mount are likely to get an opportunity to impress. Joshua Zirkzee is another candidate to come off the bench and so is Antony.
