Man Utd have had a busy transfer window this summer but look set to have a busy last week too. Both in terms of arrivals and departures, the club is making moves in the market and it looks like they are just not done yet.

We covered a story yesterday revealing that Man Utd were close to selling Scott McTominay to Napoli and in turn, were ‘imminent’ to finalizing a transfer for Manuel Ugarte from PSG. This would be the Red Devils’ fifth signing of the summer.

In his first summer transfer window as the club owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has aimed big, going for signings like Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro and Noussair Mazraoui. With Ugarte arriving, one would expect Man Utd to be done with summer dealings.

However, the Red Devils might be looking at one more transfer target. We covered a report around a week ago revealing that Man Utd made an offer for Juventus winger, Federico Chiesa, who was available for just £12.8m this summer.

Now, as per AS, Juventus have further dropped the price of Federico Chiesa who is on Barcelona’s radar with the Italian club closing in on signing Nico Gonzalez and Francisco Conceicao. The Old Lady are willing to accept around just £8.5m to sell him this summer.

It must be mentioned here that the report makes no mention of interest from Man Utd at all with the only club in the running according to them being Barcelona. That said, the Red Devils could re-enter the race to sign the player on an absolute bargain.

Signing Chiesa this summer will be a gamble but for the above mentioned price, it might be worth it. He was named the Italy Player of the Year in 2021 and even though his form of late has dipped, he is still in his prime years.

Should the gamble pay-off, it’s like buying a stock when it hits lower circuit only for it to boom over the years. It’ll be a great investment for Man Utd. In your view, should Ten Hag move in to sign Federico Chiesa to replace the likes of Greenwood and possibly, Sancho.
