Barcelona need to find €6.5m to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United – Finances explained as loan attempt on

Barcelona need to find €6.5m this month so that they can afford to loan Marcus Rashford from Manchester United until the end of the season.
That's according to Sport, who report that Barcelona need to release funds before they can push for Rashford. A report earlier today stated that they had decided to move forward to try and sign Rashford on loan.
Sport now add that they see the forward as one of the 'great opportunities' this month but they need to free up salary space first.
Manchester United are happy for an exit to take place but know that his salary, which is around €10m net, will be a problem. It will take €5m to pay those until the end of the season but he is willing to give up €2m to sign for Barcelona.
So, the Catalans need to release €6.5m from their current salary spend to get the player. They're in an agreement with La Liga that deals can be done so long as one player leaves first. This is the 1:1 rule and has been aided by the sale of VIP boxes to Qatari funds.
Barcelona have four candidates they could sell: Ronald Araujo, Eric Garcia, Ansu Fati and Frenkie de Jong.
Araujo is currently the most likely as they look to release the funds to get Rashford from Manchester United before the end of this month.
