Bayindir to start: Man Utd predicted line-up to face Arsenal in the FA Cup
Today at 04:49 AM
The FA Cup third round is upon us and Manchester United have a game against Arsenal in what is easily the marquee tie of this round. The Red Devils will be taking this competition very seriously considering the situation they are in, in the Premier League.
It is important for the Red Devils to find a way to be relevant in at least the cup competitions this season which could give them an easier route to secure European football for the next campaign despite their standing in the league.
Ruben Amorim has made quite a few rotations in most games so far this season and when asked about it, he said he does what he thinks is best for the team on a given day. With all this mind, here is how we think Manchester United could line-up in the game against Arsenal in the FA Cup.
Amorim confirmed that Altay Bayindir will get a rare start in goal with Andre Onana cooling his heels, which is understandable, as this is a cup competition and the Türkiye international will want some sort of game time under his belt.
Leny Yoro should come in for Matthijs de Ligt on the right side of a back three with Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez retaining their places. Similarly, one would expect both Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui to continue as the left wing-back and the right wing-back on the night.
Casemiro should come into the midfield, replacing Manuel Ugarte. He should be partnered on the night by Kobbie Mainoo who would be looking to control the tempo of the game from midfield. This midfield partnership could be decisive against Arsenal.
The front three picks itself majorly, with Amad Diallo likely to start from the right following his new contract while Bruno Fernandes could start from the left. Through the middle, Rasmus Hojlund will most likely be the number nine.
It remains to be seen how the game plays out for Manchester United against Arsenal. It is a tricky fixture but one that the Red Devils can come out on the right side of. Let’s wait and see how it plays out.
