Manchester City have emerged as a credible candidate to land Juventus' Andrea Cambiaso.

There has been talk that the Citizens are prepared to make an offer of €65m for the Italian, but Juventus would want a higher amount to sell the player and they would ideally want to keep him until the summer.

Pietro Lo Monaco, who has worked as the director and CEO at multiple Serie A clubs, spoke to JuventusNews24 about Manchester City’s interest in Cambiaso.

He stated his belief that €65m is too much for the Italy international and he would help him to the Citizens himelf for that price.

He said: “If the valuations are what I feel, I would put him on my shoulders and take him to England. Cambiaso is a good player, but 65m is a huge deal."

Lo Monaco also expressed doubts about whether Juve can replace Cambiaso quickly or not: "But then you can also do a similar operation, but you have to have an alternative. My question is: does Juve have it? I think Giuntoli has the right cards in his hand and will play them with the right criteria.”

While Manchester City are yet to make an official offer for the 24-year-old, it is clear that the versatile defender can be a handy player for Pep Guardiola.

Under Thiago Motta, Cambiaso has shown an ability to play in various positions on the pitch and he also inverts often in midfield – just as Guardiola would want.

He’s played 27 times in all competitions this season, scoring twice and assisting twice, showing that he is a useful player for Juventus in attack too. Keeping that in mind, it is understandable why the Citizens are being asked to pay higher than €65m.
