Manchester United have had a mixed start to the season with more misses than hits. The Red Devils under Erik ten Hag are striving to turn the situation around with the pressure firmly on them after an impressive transfer window.

Of course, inducting players who are new to the club is a process and patience is necessary. That said, Man Utd will also know that it has been a lot of seasons now without results and they hope to return to their glory days sooner rather than later.

One position that the club is well aware there is a weakness right now is left-back. Luke Shaw is one of the best in England if not the world but the talented defender has struggled to stay fit for more than 18 months now. They cannot wait in the hope that he will return.

As per Give Me Sport, Man Utd are considering a move on a free transfer for Bayern Munich superstar, Alphonso Davies, and could reach a pre-contract agreement with him in January.

The Canadian’s contract with the German club expires at the end of the current campaign.

Davies currently earns around £180,000-a-week at Bayern. The 23-year-old electric full-back also has interest from Real Madrid who want to take a page from the Kylian Mbappe playbook to sign him for free next summer.

It is almost impossible for Manchester United to be competing with Real Madrid face-to-face for Davies’ signature. There is only one clear winner here and it is the Spanish giants. It remains to be seen what the 23-year-old does.

It is not like Man Utd can try and tempt him with a guaranteed starter berth either. Even Real Madrid are lacking a starting left-back.

This is set to be an uphill transfer battle for the Red Devils and let’s wait and see how they go about it.
