Manchester United are entering a new era under Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese tactician has left behind a very successful stint with Sporting CP to take up an extremely volatile position at Old Trafford and it takes some courage to do so.
Amorim is trying to do something that no manager has been able to do since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club.

If he has to be successful at Old Trafford, he will have to do something that even managers like Jose Mourinho failed to do.
To achieve the near impossible, it would not be a surprise if Amorim was to bring in players that he trusted from Sporting CP. CNN presenter Andre Pipa has told Maisfutebol that the Man Utd have an advantage in signing Viktor Gyokeres. He said:
"It seems obvious to me that Amorim, Ruben Amorim, has a special connection with Gyokeres. The big flaw, looking at the Manchester United squad, is that there is a great spearhead missing, it could be Gyokeres. Manchester United not only the main interested party, but they have a great advantage. They have a coach who knows him, and I don't know what Gyokeres idea is, whether he likes it or not”
Gyokeres is the talk of the town following his impressive performances last season for Sporting and the way he has taken a step forward and even gone one better this season, including a hattrick against Manchester City.
The Swedish striker is said to be available for around £63m next summer, should any top European club wish to sign him. The 26-year-old forward has taken some time to peak in his career and his turnaround has been quite incredible.
One major issue for Manchester United is the difficulty of scoring goals. Both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee are not reliable goalscorers in front of the net and it is difficult to be successful without a solid number nine.
Amorim’s influence could play a major role in convincing Viktor Gyokeres to move to Man Utd. He is unlikely to leave Sporting CP this season but next summer is a good time to explore and let’s wait and see how it plays out.
